At the Edge of the World: Scaling Physical AI from Research to Deployment
BIO
Ahmed Sadek is VP of Engineering at Qualcomm, and he leads the Physical AI Systems engineering teams including automated driving and advanced general purpose robotics products. His passion is in building transformative AI-powered products that operate and interact with the physical world.
For automated driving, he oversees technology planning and execution for ADAS and L2+/L3 Snapdragon Ride Pilot products systems engineering. Snapdragon Ride was launched in the BMW Neue Klasse vehicle worldwide in 2025, a scalable product from active safety to advanced L2+ driving. In robotics, his team is building a general-purpose deployment ready platform. The vision is to build a Robotics platform that would transform any mechatronic chassis into a continuously-learning, intelligent and connected robot. Ahmed’s team introduced the Dragonwing Robotics platform at CES 2026 already powering multiple humanoids formfactors.
Before his work on Physical AI, he made fundamental contributions to wireless systems, most notably, he led the system design for groundbreaking technologies that enabled deployment of 4G & 5G systems in unlicensed spectrum, and efficient methods for on-device coexistence between cellular, GNSS, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth systems.
Ahmed is an IEEE Fellow, and he is inventor on more than 800 worldwide patents.
